Candidates must have experience in both stick and wire welds and must be willing to work in a remote location for weeks at a time.  Must be able to endure physical labor for a long duration of time and work well with others.  Welding tickets an asset.

Millwright

Fireside Minerals Ltd. is a resource company committed to responsible mining

We are currently seeking individuals for the position of: Millwright

Reporting to the Operations Manager & President.

Responsibilities:

-Maintenance of the processing plant’s stationary equipment
-Installation , inspection and repair of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic components
-Ensuring that plant is operating in most efficient manner
-Manage approx. 6 employees who work under Millwright assisting with production and running of mill.
-Work with president and operations manager to ensure that production goals are met.
-Oversee freight of product
-Oversee testing of product

Qualifications:

-Valid Inter-provincial Millwright Certification
-Valid driver’s license
-Strong interpersonal skills
-Ability to work independently and as part of a team
-Minimum of 3+ years milling experience
-Ability to manage other staff.
-Welding/electrical experience

Heavy Duty Mechanic

Fireside Minerals Ltd. is a resource company committed to responsible mining
and mineral development focusing on barite.

Fireside Minerals Ltd has an immediate opening for a Maintenance Manager.
This is a full time, permanent position based in Northern BC/Yukon.

We are seeking someone who is a self-motivated heavy duty mechanic with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience working on heavy duty equipment to join
our team.

It would be an asset if the candidate has previous experience in the mining industry; working with jaw crushers, pioneer crushers, generators, air compressors, water pumps and heavy equipment. This opportunity also involves some basic automotive repair and servicing of company equipment and vehicles.

The ideal candidate will be able to assist in the ordering all necessary parts they require.

Any candidates that apply for this job must be prepared to work in a remote northern community. Travel for work will be compensated by Fireside Minerals Ltd. The candidate must be willing to work on site for periods ranging from 3-6 weeks.

Wages will be based on amount of experience.

Job summary
The job duties include:
- Direct and manage the day-to-day operations of the shop.
- Ensure the most effective utilization of facilities, equipment and manpower.
- Supervise shop personal with an emphasis on open communication.
- Commitment to a safe work environment and safe work practices.

Responsibilities
- Plan and schedule preventive maintenance and servicing of equipment
- Maintain skilled manpower at required levels to meet operating requirements
- Provide a safe working environment and ensuring health and safety guidelines are followed.
- Contribute to short and long-term organizational planning and strategy as a member of the management team
- Ensuring that repairs and maintenance is being completed in a cost effective manner
- Ensuring a proper stock of inventory is on hand for all maintenance related items so that down time is held to a minimum
- Initiates and carries out projects that improve efficiency and/or reduces operating costs
- Overseeing the repair and maintenance of all equipment at the mine during mining season and milling equipment during milling season
- Communicate directly with management team to coordinate maintenance and repair work
- Communicating with all of the management team to ensure flow of information
- Working with the management team to implement companies policies and goals

Skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and problem-solving abilities.
- Must be very capable with heavy equipment, crushers, automotive, welding and hydraulics.
- Proven computer literacy.
- Proven high standards of safety, productivity and process control.
- Business Management as well as proven record of people skills.

Educational Requirements
- Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic with welding experience.
- Technical diploma an asset.
- Three -five years’ experience in a maintenance and management services.
